Re selling a Classic
How will registering a 58 in 2016 effect the re sale value as you cant sell it as a 58 or can you ?

A 58 is a 58 regardless of what the registration papers say. If it's a new registration or registered as built up, it will show year of first registration as 2016. I don't know if it's still the case, but the registration docs used to read: "Year of first liability for registration, NB, not year model".
I daresay there are some car collectors who place value on the date on the registration papers. Personally, I regard this info as irrelevant, since so many old cars I have seen had obvious errors on the registration docs.
