4-stud PCD, fitment, adapters, and brakes...

Post by Merlin »

's up all?

My '67 runs the correct 4-stud wheel setup for it's year...

The back has been converted to Golf disc, and the front is stock '67 disc.

I want to convert in the near future so that both ends run the same setup, for ease of maintenance, increased stopping power, etc.

The problem is...and it's already manifesting itself in the '66...

To fit a 5-stud rim on, a spacer is needed...

I've dropped the Randar idea because I need a bigger rim for my application...preferably 16", but it looks like it will be 17".

The 17"s I'm looking at are 5x205 PCD...but nothing is finalized yet...

That's bus PCD...huge.

How does one go about fitting a 5-stud rim onto a disc hub?

...or am I being daft here?

I absolutely do not want spacers, and these wheels must fit under the fenders. The car is lowered mildly, and the front beam is NOT narrowed.

Both ends run 195, which I want to keep. The back sticks out, but that's due to a wide track on the '67+ bugs.

I've got EMPI 8s atm, and the rims I'm looking at are a 42mm offset.

I really am clueless with all this BS.

Um...please HELP! :o

Thanks, N.

There are a few manufacturers of such items CB Performance and Custom and speed parts from germany are two that springs to mind for 205 x 5 discs
I have been toying with making a set for the puma
only prob is finding 300 x 50 chunks of aluminium to make the parts

I'm waiting on word from some people with wheels, but I'm sure sourcing - and building a custom setup here, for F+R, would be cheaper than a full CB import.

CSP is out. Euro pricing is ludicrous. I know, I looked at a part from them 2 months ago. :)

Thanks, N.
