It's a Sand Rail?????? My new toy

I have anew toy
A Sand Rail
Have been after this vehicle for awhile and on Sunday I finally went to collect .
I honestly thought that I would have a problem getting it home as I believe it had been standing for about 10 years.
Apart from the noise from the A frame on the tow ball it was surprisingly quite.

Thanks to Rui who came around on Sunday to "borrow" "our" A Frame, we tinkered around abit and got the motor to turn.
Unfortunatley we were unable to get it started as the points and condenser had packed, PS don't for get about Friday Rui!!!.

I want to get it running so that I can play with it before I start stripping it down. I need to strip out the pedal cluster as they are not moving freely.
The front lights and the "dash" lights work at least, tail lights and front indicators don't
Then I need to decide what colour to spray

Just a suggestion - fix it 'on the go'. Do one thing at a time - remove, repair/replace, re-install - drive!

I would like to do it that way but as I want to respray the entire vehicle I have to strip it, I also want to clean up the engine.
I have 3 colours that are a possibility: Matte black, Matte grey or cammo not quite sure of which design as yet.

Thanks for all the advice on ideas for colour but I am still undecided.
Can't make up my mind on the "military" colour or a "in your face" funky colour.

military look will never get old. Flashy colours get old quick
plus, if its a military colour, then you can get away with not washing it... thats a winner in my book - less maintenance

you are right .... but still....
At this point in time it is about 70-30 toward the military look

Thanks to Roy who came around yesterday and managed to get it started. BIG Thanks.
Engine runs well for one that has stood for many years. Only the usuals that need replacing , plugs, points, condensor.

I also started to remove the "exces " items in order to get a better picture of what lays underneath.
Biggest problem that I can see is to remove the pedal assembly as the bolts on side of tunnel are badly rusted as are the two that are behind the accelerator arm

After spending most of yesterday on the car I wasn't going to do anything on it today, But.....
I just had to.
After emptying half a can of Ease-Tec (a product that we sell and much better that Q20 in my opinion) on the pedal assembly I left it overnight but the bolts were well and truly rusted so I decided to grind it of.
The clutch pedal also would not budge..
After battling for about 3 hours I finally got it out
Now I have drill out one of the bolts on the tunnel on the passenger side also the 2 bolts behind the brake pedal holding the plate to the pan.
