As in the heading, I would like to get a thread going for SA busses interior/exterior colour combinations, but more focused on the interior detail. There really was several interior varieties I've seen over the years with regards to different upholstery textures, plastic colour coding and seat / door panel combination. I would like to have an idea how many variations have been seen.
Please share pictures of your original interiors and a pic of the outside of the bus. Busses spotted locally are also ok. Dawie had started this thread below several years ago with SA paint colours, but lets just share pictures here first. viewtopic.php?f=1&t=25279&p=239091&hili ... es#p239091
Here's a first one from my 74 green baywindow. Take a look at the strange dark brown seats but with the light brown door panels. Plastics and rubber mats are plain black.
This is from my 70 Westy. The light brown seat and door panels combination was certainly one of the most popular.
This interior below is one of the more unique ones from my 70 Deluxe.
The seats are the light brown, but door panels have a triple colour tone and the real difference being the rubber padding and floor mats which are also colour coded brown. The plastic air ducting on the front doors is however black plastic.
This one is my all time favorite! 68 Deluxe with the 3 tone grey door panels (note the light grey plastic air ducts on the front doors) with the red basket weave style vinyl seats.
Very cool colour combos, did any of them come with plain black interior as a standard option? or were there only the browns/creams/reds and light colours?

Yes, both early and late bays had an all black colour option, very, very, nice -= especially when you you see original examples which have been well preserved

Sambas in South Africa are good for only 2 things: showing off and sunburn.
This one was for sale recently online. Its also a lovely colour combination. Grey door panels, with a white plastic air ducting on the front doors with very nice white basket weave style vinyl seats.
A light blue early bay Deluxe with nice choice of white cross weave upholstery and 2 tone grey interior side panels panels to suit the exterior paint colour

This Deluxe was at the 2016 KKK, and I recall it having an all black interior. Fig is this a forum member ? I'd love to know is this is the original paint colour
