Spark thread insert
Hey everyone I was wondering if somebody knows where I can get an insert inserted into my 1300 engine. I have noticed that the spark plug thread is stripped and would prefer to not get it helicoiled as I have heard that those are unreliable. Upon contacting volkspares there are aprently no replacement head units for the 1300cc right thanks a lot.

Hi. A Helicoil can be used successfully. Inserts on the other hand are disastrous. Those things are pressed in and knocked tight. Will most probably cause hot spots and pre detonation.
The best alternative is to weld up the hole, drill and retap.
