Cylinder heads

Howzit going everyone. Unfortunately both my 1300 twin port heads have cracked between the valves and spark thread. I have found a guy selling new heads but they look as though they are for a 1600 TP will these work?. Alternatively is there anyone on here with 1300 TP heads that they’d be willing to sell. Thanks

I also noticed that slight sign of a crack in the same place but I just left it. What symptoms did your engine have?

Do you have a set of "tickled" heads in stock
When is the CT workshop open again.

So as it turns out my 1300 twin port has actually been turned into a 1600 twin port. This is nice as heads are readily available but sad at the same time as I understand that 1300 TPs are rarer

I understand how you feel. My ‘71 has its original 1300 TP engine, of which I recently had the heads rebuilt. I would hate to change to 1600 TP.

My engine is also 1,3 converted to 1.6.
Engine out busy with push rod tubes.
Difficult without an engine stand or workbench

Boet,....if you are the "custodian" of aircooleds,....you invest in an engine stand !,.....your swearing jar will take longer to fill up!!. Believe you me !!
Got a basic one at Adendorff's

Due to time constraints I ended up with a beer crate and another empty crate with the engine standing upright on one cylinder head at a time to change pushrod tubes. Worked pretty well with additional ratchet strap from the roof trusses
