Carbon fibre

Post by Blitzkrieg »

Hello

I would like to have the side beadings and chrome lip on the bonnet edge made up in Carbon Fibre...

Does anyone who works with carbon fibre ?

I know that it is going to cost, but i think that Carbon fibre beadings would look pretty cool 8)

IS IT GOING TO COST? You obviously have too much money to splash out, to give you an idea, a mate of mine who imports bicycle components got a quote localy to reproduce very simple carbon seatpost shafts that are 26mm dia and 35cm long. The cost of each was R650 that is if he ordered more than 100 a sample alone would cost R2000 due to the moulds needed, have I changed your mind yet, maybe you can just buy the carbon look vinyl sticky stuff they sell at Autostyle. :D

Give my mate Willem a call, he'll be able to do it.

072-3472585.

As long as you have the original panels, he'll be able to make them, he's not cheap, but he'll be the cheapest guy that you'll find.

Nevermind, I'm just going to smoothen over the beading holes instead of getting carbon fibre ones made, it's too much!!

Marius.

We all stay the hell away from him now.....he screwed most of us over at one stage or another.

He had that hot Mk1 2 door with a VR6 motor as well as the beetle bakkie with a midmount VR6 motor as well. Cops confiscated that, some suspiscion on stolen goods or something like that. Pity cause that car would have rocked.

it's just because it's the new black.

I had a carbon kevlar air intake made up which cost me R400-00 and it's a lot of Kevlar.

I just spoke to Willem now, he can make up the stuff, friendly chap, I think that I will only have the front lip made up in carbon fibre...

He can't price the job over the phone, he needs to see the parts first

Yup, he's a friendly/ straight up guy who will always help a fellow air-cooled guy out. He's always tinkering around with glass fibre, carbon fibre.
