Woodrim universal steering wheel, available from Midas with a variety of bosses. Had one in the buggy as well, the wood shattered in the accident, and the bottom spoke of the steering wheel made a large hole in my upper right leg and ruined my favourite pair of jeans :(

What a Woodrim will do you in the event of an accident...Pine will testify...

Hp is how fast you hit the wall, and Torque is how far you take the wall with you."

Merlin The King of Gore, strikes again

Thanks for your replies, guys, would like to get one like that but in leather and with a VW badge in the middle, seeing that original MK1 GTI steering wheels are like hens teeth   :x

Had a Mk1 GTi steering wheel in my brown 412 (the one with the rubber centre, and the 'deep' small Wolsburg badge in the middle), by far the best steering wheel I ever had in a car.

Remember, they were also fitted to the MK 1 GT, GTS and GLX as well as the very early MK II GTi's (the one with the small quarter vent window in the front door)

They do pop up every now and then, I still have a Wolfsburg badge for one..

With the sudden Euro Look revival on the "other" Vw forum, I doubt that there are any left...

I knew of one on a MK1 GTX, but when I got there, all the stuff that I wanted from that car and the SP Beetle next to it was gone  3 original SP gauges and steering wheel vanished :?

The search continues...

My best bet would be to find a guy who would like to swap it for one of Autostyle's minute crap steering wheels

I remember that story.

The PO is a serious dumbass.
