Stainless Steel welders in Jo'burg?

Post by Merlin »

's up all?

1. Do any of you have a J-pipe to lend me that actually works? :) Need to reference the length and tabs.

Mine are a little too long, and to my mind, need tabs on them in order to bolt the tinware to?...or am I wrong on that front?

2. Anyone able to recommend someone in Jo'burg able to do this?

Have I asked this before? It rings a faint bell...

Thanks, N.

Hi Merlin. I have drawings for the pipes for type-1's . Just let me know what size pipes and if the heads are stock. If you did any porting let me know thee size of the port. Also important is the lenght of the manifold studs. I assume you want to install the lower tin. the oil fill side tin is ok but since you are replacing the heater box, you will need to fabricate a plate that will weld or bolt to the j-tube on the distributor side to take the place of the heater box.

Hi guys,

I have the Js, but they are a tad too long, so they need the tapered ends cut off and welded back on after removing a section.

Also, I need to get some tabs welded on so that the tinware has somewhere to attach to.

I have yet to see a set with them on!?

For technical info you'll need to speak to Calooker - Calooker :?: - he's the man in charge of my engine bits and pieces...I'm clueless in that department.

Thanks, N.
