My 1915cc type 1 build

After a lot of thought I decided to build my 1915cc engine again as a spare for the cabrio.

The engine will feature:
Standard 69mm crank with welded counterweights
Standard connecting rods, equal weight
Mahle 94mm pistons and sleeves (Short shirt)
Scat c65 camshaft
Full flow type 1 engine casing
Cromoly pushrods
Modified type 1 cylinder heads with 42mm and 38mm stainless steel valves and double valve springs.
Twin weber 44idf carburetors

Now my idea here is to build a high revving toy. This engine should be capable of going up to 8000rpm with no problem. The short skirt sleeves help keep piston mass down and shorten the whole engine.

sounds like fun.

What are the specs on the cam? CR?

Ever considered using lighter components, like tit retainers?

The valve springs has already got titanium retainers. I want to retain the dual springs for high rpm use.

The camshaft is a Scat c65
C65 .440" lift 318 degrees PRO TRACK: Mini Indy/Super Vee grind. Excellent for variable RPM applications

The static compression ratio will be in the region of 12:1. I'm not sure if we will run dry sump or simply the deep sump setup.

Yes, I'm machining down the barrels. I'll post some pics as soon as I get the barrels back from engineering.

This engine should be running by end of next month. :)
