I have an old SAS Survival manual that covered urban disasters.
The author stated that one should not be picky about what one finds to eat in a situation where even rescue is almost impossible.
He indicates that cats and small dogs that were once pets are to be looked at as a food source. If memory serves me right, he then proceeds to
comment that it tastes like chicken anyway.
I'll have to dig to find the book, but I'm sure I still have it. Will scan and post if I find it.
Personally I find the thought revolting, but "Hard times need hard ways."
