Hi guys
I had to repace a broken cluch cable on my Beetle. Everything went well, although it took some time to hook it up I was very careful when I put everything back but now the brake and cluch pedals can move about 25mm from side to side. What did I do wrong.

I put the c-clip that holds the accelerator shaft in place back and the one holding the shaft going to the brake mastercylinder are there others?

Re: Pedal cluster
There should also be a large Dia. return spring on the assembly which is a bitch to secure and load when refitting the assembly, is that there?

On the left side of the tunnel there should be a guide bracket aswell to the right of the tunnel with a plastic u shape plastic and then the bracket holding it down at thr right of thr assy then it should not move around
