15 inch rostyles are readily available. Its the 14 inch jobs that are like hens teeth. I have bought quite a few of them just to try and find straight ones. Finally have a really straight set. The caps are also readily available. Not the prettiest of wheels but do have a 70's chunky look about them and are original. Certainly look a lot better than some of those TSW type special offer chinese mags that some undeserving beetles have forced on them. Problem is--- how to adapt the fronts to to fit the 100 pcd disk brake kits that are available. The other problem is that some VW bits dealers seem to think that they are gold plated. I was once quoted R 1300-00 for a set of 4 by a certain dealer in pretoria north. Unless I am mistaken, the 14 inch rims were only fitted to the beetles that had the 3:8 ? final drive. Unless you are lucky , you wont find a set. You have to scratch around in all the dark corners for them
Cheers

Ok, not saying you are wrong... I got the impression that 15s are hard to find because I tried to source a set a few years ago and every phone call I made only came up with 14s. I could have bought 20 sets of 14s that week, but was looking for 15s.

MTM, complaining again???
You are right, but if painted properly and detailed, they can look rather nice on the appropriate car - especially a classic bus ( not joking)

I'm so under-appreciated around here. ;)

...which bus would that be?

I've seen pics of most of the split metal down there...but didn't take notice of the wheels...

If I am not mistaken I know beetle bits used supply 15 iinch rims all round on their standard buggies. I was told on Sunday that they are Rostyle rims . Give them a ring on 021 6964110.

thanks for the replies.. i think the Rostyles are the best looking old skool wheel..perfect for a resto cal look...

EMPI? made a wheel called the sprint star that looks similar to our SA rostyles...

FYI in the states they call Rostyles SA Sprintstars

Glad to know they make a 15 inch.. :D
