Need Help!!!!!Blitzkrieg wrote: Now that this project is over, what will the next project be
So help needed.....ideas for a new project so far....
1) Convince Vader to sell me the darkside
2) Buy the R5k split of Fig and if he allows turn it into a trailer for MO (same design) for the kids to sleep in whilst the misses and I enjoy a rock 'n' roll party
3) Find a baja beetle and make my own version....
4) Find a buggy (your bloody fault Chris) and again turn into my interpretation of something cool
5) Find a 67 sport beetle and restore to original
6) Get a total wreck and just pull out the cutter and do a Barry....problem is I don't have Barry's skill.
As you can see, I have too much time on my hands

Re: '65 - Split bus resto....my project
Have you checked through the junkmail ads? There are hundreds of possible cars. Otherwise if you have bucks, build a Posrche speedster replica or spyder replica.
The only substitute for cubic inches are more cubic inches.

Re: '65 - Split bus resto....my project
If you look at the ads in the Autotrader, it's a better idea to build a speedster. For almost the same effort you get a car that you can sell for a lot more and is just as much fun. But that's just my opinion. Buggies are also fun.

As you know I have plenty space, and I could actually benefit from having someone else around to give me a kick in the ass and keep moving on my projects. There's nothing like watching your mates making progress on their builds while you're twiddling your thumbs to make you feel like a right twat......
At worst you'll be out a couple of quid for the wreck and a few cases of beer, but I guarantee you will learn plenty whatever you end up with!!
This is a serious offer!! - let me know what you think.

You're welcome to do that at my place, all the equipment is there, I'll give you whatever pointers I can - It really isn't that hardDutch_Diver wrote: 6) Get a total wreck and just pull out the cutter and do a Barry....problem is I don't have Barry's skill.More like Dirk's

Re: '65 - Split bus resto....my project
Barry.....I'm heading your way fast. I'm also very interested in Pine's buggy body.....so might be all coming together.
Vader, do you remember on the way back from George, that beautiful women took my number at the station where we parted ways....well she called on Thursday. She's called about her 69 beetle and says I can have it if I bring it back to life in some way or another. I'm going to try and see it this week (but my parents are here on holiday so might not make it). By the way, her name was Sylvia. This could be a great start for doing something mad!!!!

69.......
Now now Frank, you've got to be careful what you write - you know how easy it is to set Vader off

Re: '65 - Split bus resto....my project
I thought I would add a few pictures of "Mo" just before she was taken back to the garage to get some finishing touches done. We ran out of time before she went to George.....

So "Mo" has been in now for a week to have a full service on the engine, check & adjust all the brakes as they were completely new, having a few dials fitted and getting some stuff working like the Speedo!
I'll give another update when she's back home.

Nice thing about a Baja...no moral issues as with an 'original' restore, you can express your 'inner self'...Dutch_Diver wrote:So help needed.....ideas for a new project so far....Blitzkrieg wrote: Now that this project is over, what will the next project be
