VR6 Turbo The BLACK

Post by Bugger »

Thought I will start this tread about my "old" or Ex new Beetle that returned

When I was co Owner at Beetle inn from 2000 and we wanted to get as much Exposure to the company We decided to buy a new Beetle for advertising
And it did work we got invited to a host of shows to show off our cabriolet bugs with the New one :D HEHEHE It paid to advertise

There were a waiting list of quite a few months but a friend of ours pulled a few strings and we got a black bug and hence from the beginning it was Called The Black

Jokingly was also called Lucifer hence the Registration plate LCF

I started with the VR project in 2003 just before I ended my Partnership with BI
My ex partners carried on with the project but with very bad luck and less success they managed to fit the motor,Although I think much help was recieved from 3de party companies
This bug was as the story goes through different EFI systems, bigger injectors 2 turbos and 3 damaged motors.

I was phoned 2 months ago to help and Collect the bug and was standing at my property since
we collected the Bug from the guys that was supposed to just set the EFI maps nice and rich for running inn purposes but Have managed to damage the motor again on the Dyno.
Motor spinns like no spark plugs present

The bug has been fitted a Body kitt and resprayed to a very low standard
I will be removing the whole conversion and start from the beginning and check out where the problem areas is

This project will be in the back of the Que for now as I have a few others waiting patiently for the right time for them to be in the front of the Que :D

I think this is the only one in SA that I know of if youknow of others pls let me know about them

Yes BAB that was a few years ago
Just a pity it was not looked after during the conversion there are quite a few small things that is broken or does not function anymore that will need attention to Detail
But I have a whole Forums members that can help me find all those small nitty gritty knows shacks etc

Here is the description I prefer to link to Lucifer and not the Devil link :D

It brings light back into my life :D

Lucifer
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jump to: navigation, search
This article is about the star or Christian religious figure. For other uses, see Lucifer (disambiguation).

The fall of Lucifer, [1] Gustave Doré's illustration for Paradise Lost by John Milton.Lucifer is a Latin word, literally meaning "light-bearer", that was used as a name for the "day star" or "morning star" that precedes the rising of the sun.

Any one got some links to where I can get a decent set of pistons from

Nice project Bugger.

Friend of mine has a 2 door MK1 Golf with a VR6 engine and that thing is seriously quick and scary

Those VR6 engines are like Type 4s; not everyone likes them

...but me, I love the growl when you tickle the accelerator pedal
If it's too low, you're too old

Lotus Elise 111R, almost everything is standard
'75 SP 1600 with a few mods

Well just a Quick update

Thanks to a good friend of mine the Black is running :drunks: :drunks:
The revlimmiter is set on 3800 and and have not boosted pas .3bar as running it in to get some milage on the motor before tuning
The bottem end power is unbelievable and when the vacuum cleaner starts spinning the bug wants to take off
There area huge amount of snags and broken things I will start fixing on it
Friday night when I was passenger when Johnn Hoffe was driving the left window vell in to the door so in our "SOBER"states had to strip the door panel and inner panel which is no easy task when sober so we had our fun
