Never fear! I'll make mine look full red. Apparently there is a way to do it with 2K clear and some red toner mixed, or something like that. However, i've found someone who did the lenses on my friend's GTI, he told me that he can spray them full red, will take them to him tomorrow for a quote :)

it is possible with the toner and clear technic. ive seen the result a while back when full red rear lights was not so comercialised. make sure the clear layer doesnt have any orange peel, or fish eyes. dont xactly know the process but done properly the result looks good.

Done it before with red or black mixed with clear. Just make sure you scuff the lens properly before you paint it.

Pharco, welcome to the site. Please introduce yourself in the "Members,Introduce yourself" thread.

It is nice to have more guys from PE on here. :D

As for your question, depending on what the owner wants for the car,and what you are prepared to pay and how much you want to spend on it.

Another weekend with no work done on the car, due to the show that I had to attend :(

Took a walk around, resisted the temptation to buy goodies again, but I did get a 411 speedometer. 180 KM/H, and a trip meter

Upon getting home, I promptly ripped it apart and started seeing how I could get it to fit into a Type 3 speedo case. More on that later.

I also collected a set of rings from Hubcap. After the show, thought that I would remove the sleeves and send them away this morning to have them rehoned.

No such luck.

2 of the sleeves came off fine, the other two are absolutely stuck! I'll have to try again today after work

I posted something about this few years back

To remove the barrels, take a mallet (soft hammer) and hit the fins near the head. Hit them directly down. They can take some punishement, but if you bend them even a tiny bit, they will break. Or put a piece of wood on them and hit with a hammer.

Hit
when it doesnt work, hit harder
hit harder
hit even harder.
Say FK it I have nothing to loose and hit harder
viola, barrely off and undamaged. ---- only if you place pressure on the fins directly down!!!!!

Thanks Tony, some good advice there. Well, have not touched the fasty in quite a while. The Porsche seats are still at Bugger's place, i'm hoping to get them from there quite soon. I have a whole box of parts destined for the fasty, the box is quite dusty  I'm hoping that this car will be done by the end of the year, this bullshit project is gone a bit too far now!!! But I guess it will all be worth it :)
