The reason why I removed the paint from the inside of the lense was because it was faded. I'm not sure about the inside of the lense being sprayed, no idea if mine were done or not.

The guy who did mine is in Van Der Hoff Road - Gordon's Custom Paints or something like that...

So after selling my other fastback, my first toy and acvw, this is now my sole project. I don't need to buy any more major parts for the car, as I think that I have everything. I was fortunate enough to find the correct steering tube from sarel.wagner, will go and get it once he starts stripping the Variant. I used a welded up Beetle tube, and was not happy with it as the bracket was welded on incorrectly and it was crooked. So with this new tube, everything should be perfectly factory and safe. All I need to do is get the motor in, sort the brakes and seat mounts correctly and we should be good to go...

Things being a little more quiet now, managed to get some work on the car done. With a bit of luck, I can maybe have the engine in at the end of the week. Have a set a final deadline to have the car ready. 20th of June. Beetle Anniversary Show. If it isn't there, I will scrap this project and break it for parts. Wish me luck.

Make a list of what remains to be done. (This usually works for me). Then mark it down as you go along.

Good luck.
Staying Aircooled is so much nicer.

No more pictures for a while because my Sony digital camera got nicked by some bastard thieves :( Cleaned out the interior last week, pans are still pretty good except for one piece on the LHS which I have a donor for. Assembled the dash, so some progress has been made....still hoping to have her at the Mint...time will tell :D
