Man I had to hunt to find this post again ! As you might or might not know the "cream cracker" has been left standard and the mods have moved on to "moonshine & lime" a 58 beetle this car has been seen at a few meets and i drive it at least 3 times a week to work and the like , all the mods as per the 56" has been done to the 58" including a 6inch beam with shocks, discs all round the 16" Fuchs ect.The engine has seen a bit of a refurb too, ported square port heads new cam , chromoly pushrods and followers from Scat. to name some but....... Today has been a verry good day in the sense that the 2.7 type4 is in ! After months of hunting and waiting for parts from the us she now has the heart of a lion and the attitude of the metro police . This was by no means as easy as i thought since the motor is way bigger than a type1 but after 2hours yes working on a lift with two helpers she is in without cutting the vallance ect. Tomorrow is going to be a big day ( saw the oil cooler has a crack so have to get a new one) nudge nudge wink wink :D new fuel lines all the cooling and a new oil cooler both carbs intakes , linkages and still the exhuast among all the other small things like sender units and wiring .
But its a happy man going to bed tonight i might not get her running tommow but it wont be long now !!!! :D :D :D
My biggest fear is that my wife sells my cars for what i told her they cost !!

Want to drive it tommorow and change the exhuast with some mandrel bends although its still running rough i gave a old Conquest a hiding of note on Saturday driving it home from the shop ! :D :D

Hey Donovan , nope the plan was to mod the 56" but that changed when i bought the 58" so the oval is staying stock.

Splitz, the 56 Oval is parked right next to this one, when we threatened to burn his house down if he touches the oval, the mods were moved to this one.

See three or four posts above yours.

Looking MEAN Jacques! I like it :hangloose:
