Cool I love the Type 4 motors
What HP are you looking at making
Should make more than 275HP ?
Thanks! I´m aiming for 450.The hardware is capable of it,the rest is proper tuning which will be the biggest challenge..

The Flywheel is the only thing that has really been lightened.I do want it to rev quickly but I don´t want a really nervous engine either. It´s a comprimise also to reduce lag :D Flywheel weight is 3,5Kg

Thanks Dazz,
it will be a little while though. The next major thing is a bug transmission that will take the power. It won´t be a drag racer,I´m wanting to run it on road races and circle track like Hockenheim or Nurburgring.Just for fun, though and the occasional race.

Nurburg....should be awsome. It would be awesome to see what it would be able to do around the nurburg in the hands of Sabine Schmidts....

Ooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh Sabine! :flash: :hangloose:

She got a bit on my nerves in the Euro version of 5th gear, though.

That´s true. Thanks for the link I will look into it! They would have to be either much cheaper or the freight costs would have to be much cheaper.Generally it´s the freight costs that kill. It´s the same ordering from the USA also.On top of that I have to pay import tax which is 23,5% including freight costs and the price of the gearbox .So usually it´s not any cheaper buying out of country. However, companies like KCR or Rancho build better gearboxes than what is usually available here in Germany.I don´t want to go with a Porsche gearbox unless it´s a first generation G50 (from the ´85 911 SC 3.2 ).But that means modifying the floor pan and I don´t want to do that because I want to get this thing done finally..The bug has been in parts for 10 years and I´ve had a lot of set backs within this project and I want to get it done this year - hopefully.
