At last, after a long search, I have found the perfect 'old school' low-back seats for the buggy. These were bought from Gerhard at Volksieshop in Bloem (thanks G) and transported from Bloem to Orkney by 944 (thanks IMPI) and then from Orkney to Jhb by Dormobile (thanks Fig)!

They are moulded into lowered VW seat rails, and one of them have the ability to tilt forward. I will however not use the VW rails, as HW has an aluminium floor, and no runners. I have aftermarket runners that run on bearings, that will be modified to use with this seats.

The seats will need some attention and strengething by fibreglass, and then will have to be re-covered, but it is exactly what I wanted from the start 8)

Took HW2 (unfortunately still with an A-frame) today for wheel alignment after Werner Alke did the king & link pins and I fitted new tie rod ends a while ago - they got the alignment perfectly within the specs of a '74 Beetle :hangloose:

Interesting to see that they still have the specs for Type 3's and 4's on their alignment machine

PS, does anyone know what a Beetle Type 9C is? :zhelp:

I think it is called Budget Tyres? It is at no 52a van Riebeeck Rd, Edenvale - right across that restaurant with the big Dutch windmill.

The alignment cost only R 99.00 and the owner even gave me a nice Maxxis poster for the garage wall! 8)

Thanks, Ron - I am still towing it as I haven't quite sorted out the dual Kadrons yet, and the seats are also not mounted - first need to build some mounting brackets, and have them covered.
