put new rings in the 1717cc motor and home ported the heads aswell as fitting the centre mount weber downdruaght...now to get the buggy running as a reliable DD by the first half of the year and second half of the year is to start looking at turbo charging the motor and adding new mags and disk brakes ect.

Well so far from not needing to do anything I have done the following:

Lower the front end of the SC - strip cut weld refit
Alignment on the SC
New shocks on the SC

Start the process of recovering the westy interior in the bay.
Change the exhaust in the bay

Re-done the brakes on the rear of the mad car.

What a month

My list for this year is long(well it is for me as I have no-where to work and little time to do it in)

1.Rear disk brake conversion
2.Cut out the handbrake section on my tunnel and replace with a non cancerous piece
3.Strip out front suspension and take it to Bugger to do proper lowering (then reinstall it)
4.Rewire the whole car
5.Get a rotary conversion done

This all needs to be done while keeping the car fairly driveable as I would like to attend some shows with it this year and after getting the cash together for the conversion. Then there's the little problem I have of not being able to weld, so I have to learn to weld with my newly(last year) bought TIG welder. :|

My plans for this year are as follows: :puterwork:

To get the car started before the 1st of May (would make a great birthday present) :drunks:
Fix my indicator storks
To install an alarm with central locking in the car
Change the old worn out lock barrels for brand new lock barrels
Sort out the keys for my ride so that I can use one key to start, lock and unlock my car.
Fit Pioneer 6x9's 8)
Fit a tracking device
Get the front lowered :hangloose:
Do a golf disk brake conversion
Buy new tail lights (going to do that first because the ones on it are broken) :hangloose:
Replace the seats with original vw beetle seats
Fit a MP3, USB, iPod headunit 8)
Fit an aftermarket oil pump with bypass oil filter :hangloose:
Install a brand new engine hood latch with a lock
Replace the 4 into 1 exhaust with a new empi gt 2 tip premium exhaust
Buy new indicator lenses for the fender indicators
Fit new wiper blades
Fit new headlight bulbs, maybe some H4 units if possible. Give it that clear white look not that old and dull yellow look

Those are my plans for my '74 VW beetle, wish me luck guys, I'll need it. :zhelp:
