Re: Warwicks Split
Use this you lucky chicken farmer!
"production year" should have a 1 in it, meaning 1961. Or else, confirm the numbers there?
The "23" under the "TYP" field confirms its a type 2 bus, and 3 -a 'kombi'
If its "234" it means: 2 -Type 2 / 3 - kombi /4 - Cargo doors left, right hand drive.

Re: Warwicks Split
Also think Jul-August 1961, probably assembled in SA around September that year.
The digit that identifies model year was first introduced end 64 for the 65 model year. Prior to that, it was only a plain sequential chassis number.

Staying Aircooled is so much nicer.

Re: Warwicks Split
That chassis number is 1961 without a shadow of doubt. Notice the lower position of the top side door hinges, so it cannot be 59.
The colour code seems like it was not stamped clearly. Do you think it could have been a "Q/-" or "O1/-" or is it definitely a zero and a seven? The top of the 7 is not so clear.
Congratulations, your kombi looks in reasonably good unmolested condition.
