Went up to Custom Classics again today, its now like a home from home lol

I've finally got the corner trims to sit as I've always wanted them too. I'm chuffed to bits:-

These pictures show a clear difference between the original paint inside & the newer paint applied in 2006 outside, that difference will soon be a thing of the past:-

The trim is 3mm lower now on the tailgate & there are fewer clips, it looks like I used far too many clips,, both corners are spot on:-

The sides are nice & straight now & in line, even some of the holes I drilled yesterday were a few mm out, its a nightmare trying to line everything up. The secret is to do the corners first get them in line by using the tailgate piece, then work down the sides:-

Gavin had the idea to put the trim on then mark a line above & below, then put a centre line where the holes are going to drilled. You only drill the holes either end, then when your happy with the level you drill out the middle ones.

I only have the front doors & the little b-pillars to do now, after that I can remove the trim & drill off the clips again. After that the wrong holes can be welded up ground down & we can move on to the next stage. :)

Called in again today to work on Milly, I've finally got the deluxe trim finished & its sitting level & looking good. Gav now has 55 holes to weld up.

Image

Ground off the paint etc from the window recesses, so far I've done the 2 driver side side windows & the tailgate, all are better than I first thought:-

The rear arch had some small bubbling so I cleaned this down & the same with the sill seam. Luckily the rust has started on the outside & not the inside so it cleaned up nice:-
Image

You can see in this pic on the left there is some more serious rust the size of your little finger nail, this will need a tickle with the welder:-
Image

Cleaned down one seam & it is only rust on the surface, so far so good:-

Went back up to Custom Classics today.
I've cleaned up all windows now, one had no pitting at all the rear one sliding door side, all are good apart from the windscreen, the metal is thin in some places & will need welding:-

This part will also need welding:-

Removed the large Westy cupboard, luckily there is no rot behind, I had to take this off for Gavin to weld the old deluxe holes up:-

Got hold of a spare couple of Bay wheels, the plan is to shot blast these, powder coat them white & fit them on the trailer, that way if I get a puncture on the trailer I can use the same spare as Milly so I only need to carry one spare:-

In clearing out Milly I found 4 coins a 20p two 1p & a 50 cents coin. I'll spend the 22p but I'll polish up the 50 Cents & keep it as a memento.

Fitted boards to blank out the windows on Milly today, left the outside at the bottom untaped but taped up the inside, this should stop most of the shot blasting grit from getting in the bus when I'm blasting. Its now ready for blasting tomorrow:-
