The body hanging in the shop is a Porche Spyder body with a mdified backend.
What the speed of the fugly is concerned mine done 80km /h full throttle to Humansdorp and 90km/h back (maybe that is why they put up so many windmills for power on the side of the road LOL)
That is with a normal 1600cc and 15inch rims.
Sory guy's it is not an Eagle hanging!!
Greetings

Re: Have you heard the one about the 3 Brazilia ns
HI GUYS.
JUST GOT BACK LATE LAST NIGHT.
NOTICED SOME OF THE RESPONSES AND JUST WANT TO SHED SOME LIGHT ON THE SUBJECT.
FIRSTLY YES; WE PUT THE 80KPM STICKER ON TO STOP MOTORISTS FLASHING LIGHTS, HOOTING ETC.. AT OUR SLOWER THAN FREEWAY SPEEDS, AND GENERALLY JUST AS A COURTESY TO OTHER ROAD USERS.
SECONDLY. THE BUS COULD PROBABLY DO 100KM'S AT A PUSH, HOWEVER WE HAD MADE A DECISION NOT TO PUSH THE BUS TO IT'S LIMITS DUE TO THE LENGTH OF THE TRIP AS WELL AS THE LOAD IT WAS CARRYING. I KEPT IT AT A STEADY 80KM'S WHERE POSSIBLE AND ON THE ODD OCCASSION FREE-WHEELED DOWN SOME OF THE LONGER, STEEPER HILLS.
THIRD. HERMAN'S ENGINES PERFORMANCE WAS NO BETTER THAN THE EXISTING ENGINE. IT WAS HOWEVER QUIETER WHICH I ATTRIBUTED TO THE EXHAUST.
FOURTH. THE GEARBOX OIL WAS DRAINED AND CHANGED BEFORE THE BEGINNING OF THE TRIP AND THEN CHECKED AT UMTATA. THE OIL WAS CLEAN AND NEEDED NO TOPPING UP.
FIFTH. THE SEALS WORKED PERFECTLY WELL FOR UP TO 60 -70 KM'S AND THEN SOMETHING OBVIOUSLY WENT WRONG. SO FAR CONSCENSES SEEMS TO BE THAT IT IS MOST LIKELY THE SPIGGOT SHAFT OF THE GEARBOX CAUSING THE PROBLEM. ( I WILL BE CONTACTING BUGGER TO SEE IF HE WILL CHECK IT OUT FOR US)
SIXTH. WE RUN NORMAL 15" RIMS AND TYRES SO NO EXTRA STRAIN ON THE ENGINE FROM THAT.
THANKS GUYS FOR YOUR INPUT AND INTEREST. WE APPRECIATE ALL OF IT.
MARK

I'm not a bus fundi, but I see that you bus seems to ride higher that Cyndi's bus? Her wheels tuck under while yours can't due to size?retrovan wrote: Not just Fat, but big as well.......245 x 75R x 15

How did you get this right, and what happens under load or when hitting a bump/dip in the road, don't the wheels touch/scrape against the body?

Yes you right,
If you have a look from the side, you will see that I, with much care, cut the back "mud guard" in the same shape as the front, but higher.
This allows the wheel to "full Travel" outside the wheel arch.
Not sure what others think,
