Here is my Front suspension all complete. Dave Rowley did the work and it looks awesome. Everything was replace, even the needle bearings inside the tubes.

Thanks again Dave.

Hey Chris, that only looks like your suspension. Ask Tom to run by you all the Non type 3 or '67 bug specs for his beam.
Its surprisingly different------

The Shocks are non Kubel. Thought they looked good.

The rest is stock 181.

Although this suspension is based on a Beetle Ball joint version, it is very different. Eg all the ball joint are larger with more travel and thicker pins.

From the pics above what 4 differances can you spot from the outside that is different to a standard Beetle ball joint suspension?

Nice Tom.

Differences from a standard beetle balljoint suspension:
For a start:
Steering knuckles-(or stub axles). The lower ball joint fits the other way than a beetle, the axle shaft where the wheelbearings goes,is in a lower position on the steering knuckle, for increased vehicle height.
Staying Aircooled is so much nicer.
Do'nt assume anything- (While doing fault-finding).

Support mountings on the lower outer sides of the beam.

1) The shock mounts are reinforced.
2) It has extra mounting points at the end of the bars.
3) Lower ball joints point down.
4) Anti Roll bar is thicker and bent up in the front for better ground clearance.
