From inside a Splits box

Another question is
1 Shimm on the gear side and no shim on the other - is this correct
Thats between the big bearing and the gear

Tha shimm is to space the Ring gear closer to the Pinnion shaft as to get the back lash right and mating patern
under the shimm is a spacer and on the other side there should also be a spacer between the diff carrier and the bearing

Those numbers is all sorts of numbers VW used to keep Ring and Pinnion sets together and by who it was manufactured

Is there a specific torque for those nuts that hold the gear as there are another 2 that are loose
Would it be alright to put some locktight or a split washer to keep them in place and then the wire ??

do you know all or most of the torque spec's?

I want to know what should the torque be on the 4 bolts that connects the Reduction Gearboxes to the spring plates?

Found in a manual - torque 4 the ring gear retaining bolts 6mkg - 45 Ft.lbs

Set at 10-12 mkg or 72-87ft.lbs

The Thick one about 3.45mm is also a shimm just 3mm thick shim the thin one is a extra one to space the R&P right

You can use that Torq setting and Locktite but you have to use the wire locking strand as those bolts tend to vibrate loose

Would it be alright to put some locktight or a split washer to keep them in place and then the wire ??

Locktite yes and wire have to be used
