Clock repairs
Does anyone know of someone that can fix the clock in my '71 baywindow? Is it repairable?

Re: Clock repairs
9 out of 10 times it is the fusable link that is a quick fix. I can check it out for you if you like.

Re: Clock repairs
Yup, dead easy fix. There is a great link on the Samba for this, I repaired mine in about 5 minutes and I suck at wiring........

Re: Clock repairs
please help! After the fusable link was repaired, and we tried to install the clock it would run for a few seconds it became so hot and then smoke started to come out. Obviously pulled the wire out of the clock immediately. tried a few times, but everything was just the same. On the clock it says 12 volts. Wondered if that would be too strong? Really don't know much that is why your help will be really appreciated.

Try to isolate the problem. Have you tested it outside the bus just on the battery? It could be a dead short in the wiring. Dont let the clock heat up to much, it's got plastic gears
Cheers,
Didi
