"Once upon a time this Bus was powered by a 23 horsepower Siemens electric motor, deriving its ‘juice’ from 24 six-volt batteries weighing a phenomenal half a ton! With a combined voltage of 144V and an amp/hour capacity of 155Ah at 75 amps, the Bus could hold a sustained 35mph for 62.4 miles per overnight charge. That’s only slightly slower than a petrol Bay.

Ferdinand Porsche was awarded the Grand Prix at the Paris Exposition in 1900 with the Lohner-Porsche Chaise, an electric car with hub-mounted motors. Nothing at all new about electric cars.

I have a book about Porsche with a photo of the car you are referring to, imagine finding one of those. It is interesting that we had one of these busses in South Africa (thanks for your post).
