Can I retrofit door handles?
's up?
Up 'til '66 bugs had the 'pull'-type straight interior handles...'67 went recessed horizontal handles.
Fitting earlier handles...is is straightforward?
Thanks, N.

Thanks IMPI.
We'll chat a bit more about it over the phone later this year.
Vader...
Up to '66, bugs had, like buses, small levers which you pulled towards the back of the car to open the door.
'67 onwards had more 'modern' handles, which sit in a recess, and you pull towards yourself?
Make sense? :s

Is that on the outside or the inside? The DarkSide is a '66 but has two different types of handles on each door (outside)
Maybe Hitler can take some pic of us and you can have a look..
But if I think about it would it not be easier to just swop the doors?

Inside Vader.
I'm a little sketchy, but I think '67 doors were a little different?
Your '66 should have the old-type interior handles then, that I'm after.
I want to conver the handles, winders, and dash knobs all to pre-67 style.

I must say I really like my handles and window winders they are much better and it's a good idea if you can change them.
get Hitler to take some pic's of the DarkSide's doors as the panels have been removed and you will be able to see what needs to be changed... If the '66 doors fit it might be a straight swoop...

Nah, I'm talking about the interior handles.
'66/'67 has the handles on the left. '65 and earlier, the right.
Only the driver's door can be operated with a key.

Use the key that has the oval end and notches on the one side only. Or slide a sharp knife under lock in the 3/4 vent and flip it open then you can just stick your hand in and open the door... Opening the door is th easy part it's when you try to close it thats when the frustration happens. The door keeps popping open.....The locking alignment is a bit iffy!!
