Prestech engineering say thet could remanufacture out of stainless steel no problem,they just need the original i would imagine....thier based in Boksburg,

Werner Alke from the Jacaranda Beetle Club - he did mine on HW2, and you have seen it.

You get a LOT of credit if you bring him your front beam already clean and disassembled :wink:

Werner was supposed to have made me an A Frame, somehow he lost interest as he is too busy but damn this guy is good...I am going to call him to see if he would make it....

Thanks Pine for the pictures. Those look like split kombi type,with needle bearings for the linkpins.

Beetle types do not have needle bearings at the linkpins.

Remember, it is VERY important to grease the front suspension at least every 5000 km. Every oil change service should include greasing the front suspension, as was recommended by VW.
Staying Aircooled is so much nicer.
Do'nt assume anything- (While doing fault-finding).

Thanks Dawie, it was just a generic pic I got from TheSamba. Needle bearings on the link pins sounds like a good idea, wonder why they discontinued it?
